The a-la-carte restaurant in Hotel Rila, Borovets – Samokovi is nominated for the awards "Restaurant of the year 2018 Bacchus AcquaPanna & S.Pellegrino" in the category “Creative cuisine”. The prestigious Bulgarian culinary magazine is organizing the awards for 18th time in a row and selects the restaurants with biggest achievements in the past year.
The nomination for restaurant Samokovi in the “Creative cuisine” category recognizes the efforts of Chef Veselin Kalev and his team and highly estimates the creative element that chef Kalev includes in every recipe. The category recognizes restaurants whose chefs have their own style and menu “Winter 2018 / 2019” in Samokovi demonstrates that chef Kalev is a real trendsetter. The cold smoked salmon sourced from the nearby village of Gorni Okol, served with avocado, smoked pepper, cherry tomatoes, yogurt and spinach and the European bass fillet served on a bed of bean ragout with mussels, white wine sauce and tomato thyme concassé are few of the innovative recipes this winter season. Special jury selects and evaluates the restaurants in every category. The jury includes culinary journalists, skilled culinary tasters and partners. The prices will be bestowed on 31st of March on a special gala with renowned chefs from Spain and Bulgaria.
