-  Planning for the holiday season has begun and expectations for your hotel are high. What have you prepared for us this year?
Yes, you're right. New Year's Eve comes only once a year and deserves to be exactly to our guests' taste. Naturally, there's demand for both a festive buffet dinner and a set-menu gala dinner, so we traditionally offer both options. Both are festive, both come with a rich program, but the atmosphere and the way you'll spend the evening are a little different.

-  Please briefly explain the differences. Let's start with the festive buffet.
If you love trying different kinds of appetizers, dishes, and desserts, choose the Festive Buffet Dinner. Picture a festive evening where you can taste a little of everything… or go back for more of whatever you liked best.
At the New Year's Buffet Dinner we offer a rich variety of festive dishes and gourmet specialties, so everyone can put together their own New Year's menu.
And to the great food we add a serious dose of mood: Esil Duran, the Boryana Dance Show, a folklore ensemble, and a DJ.
In short, the buffet is a great choice if you: love variety, want to choose for yourself what and how much to eat, and prefer a more relaxed and dynamic festive atmosphere.

- And what's special about the gala dinner?
The gala dinner in our "Rila" ballroom is top-tier: ceremonial, stylish, with a taste of exclusivity. Every New Year's Eve we choose a theme for the evening; this year the focus will be tied to the 130th anniversary of the first mountain resort in the Balkans — Borovets. There will be an interesting mix of nostalgia and vintage with a look toward the future of our resort.
The gala dinner menu is original and will showcase the finest gourmet creations of our chef, always based on fresh regional and seasonal ingredients. The entertainment program, hosted by Daniel Peev – Dundy, includes performances by Esil Duran, Daniel Peev – Dundy's band, Boryana Dance, a folklore ensemble, and a DJ, plus a New Year's raffle, a laser show, and more surprises that will keep the festive mood going into the early hours.
For all hotel and resort guests we've prepared a special laser show on the slope across from the hotel, with which we'll count down the remaining seconds to the new year, 2027.

- And after midnight? After midnight the party continues in our After Eleven night club with a selection from DJ Mascota. Guests who chose the New Year's Gala Dinner get free access to the After Eleven Night Club.

- And how should we dress?
There's no mandatory formal dress code, but for the Gala evening we recommend at least cocktail/elegant attire. In other words — this is your occasion to pull out that outfit waiting for the right moment.

- We know the celebration begins even before December 31.
Yes, no matter which option you choose, New Year's at Hotel Rila is more than one festive evening. Our hotel sits in the heart of the resort and is a true ski-in/ski-out hotel. You can combine the celebration with a few days in Borovets — the mountain, the snow or snowboard, the skis, the SPA treatments, and time with your loved ones. Choose your festive evening, book your stay, and leave the rest to us. I hope we'll raise a toast together at midnight!

That was my conversation with Mrs. Tomova, General Manager of Hotel Rila, Borovets. I'll try to sum up our talk and make your choice easier, if you're still wondering which option is for you.
