Important information about the transition to the euro on January 1

Dear guests,

We would like to inform you that Bulgaria will officially switch to the euro as its currency on January 1. With this in mind, we would like to prepare you for possible temporary inconveniences that may arise due to technical changes, so that your stay can proceed smoothly and without unnecessary stress.

What does this mean for you?

On December 31 and January 1, there is a realistic risk that ATMs and payment systems (cards) may be temporarily out of service while they are being adjusted to the new currency.

You can make cash payments in Bulgarian levs until the end of January.

Please be patient and understanding on the night of the transition - this will be a time when the entire state financial system is simultaneously re-equipping and temporarily suspending some of its services.

What are we doing for you?

Our team will do everything in its power to minimize inconvenience: we will monitor the situation, update the information at the reception desk, and be ready to help you if needed.

What can you do?

When you check in at the hotel, please pay for any additional services you have requested.

We advise you, if possible, to have a small amount of cash ready for expenses during the first few days (transport, coffee, small purchases, etc.).

Thank you in advance for your understanding and patience. We are confident that together we will get through this transition easily - and your vacation will not be affected.

With respect,

The team at the Rila hotel
